On July 11 IRCC invited 800 candidates in an all-program draw. Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 505, which is significantly higher than the three category based selection invitations the previous week but still lower than 511 required for candidates in the July 4 draw.

Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)

ECA report and the reference number are a must in the Express Entry profile.

An Educational credential assessment (ECA) is used to verify that your foreign degree, diploma, or certificate (or other proof of your credential) is valid and equal to a Canadian one.

If you completed your education outside Canada, you need an assessment to:

  • be eligible as the principal applicant for Federal Skilled Workers Program (Express Entry) (including PNPs – Express Entry)
  • earn points for education you got outside Canada

* You don’t need an assessment for a Canadian degree, diploma, or certificate.

Who can do your assessment?

You must use one of these designated organizations:

  1. Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
  2. International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
  3. World Education Services
  4. International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
  5. International Credential Evaluation Service

Your report must not be more than 5 years old on the date you:

  • submit your Express Entry profile
  • apply for permanent residence

Don’t ask the designated organization or the professional body to send report directly to IRCC.
